Hole in Fortyone!

These were for a golfer on his forty-first birthday. Yes, I realize that a hole in forty one is not a exactly a good score, but it accurately reflects the score when I play a game of golf. In fact, this is the closest encounter I have had with golf in three years.I like to think I'm better at making golf cookies than actually playing the game. Hopefully.

Yes I realize that there is no Hole 41 and that Par 41 is extreme, but again, if you are playing golf with me you should prepare for a long game. The golf Green cookie was made with a jellybean shaped cutter that came in a set of Easter cutters. I thought it would never be used- who wants a boring jellybean cookie - but it was perfect for this project!

This bouquet included a combination of traditional Decorated Delectables Cookies as well as some chocolate cookies with mint icing (all pictured above).

Last but not least, a showcase of the terrible golfing outfits that were so fun to create. Can't you just picture the pros on television walking out onto the green in these pants?

Hurry Hurry Drive the Fire Truck!

Lesson learned from this design - how difficult but enjoyable it can be  to cut out and decorates 13 firetrucks the same when they are all done by hand without a cookie cutter. These were made for a little guy's fireman themed 4th birthday party. They were actually cut out by using a previously made sample cookie as a stencil.

Lingerie Themed Bachelorette Cookies

This bachelorette bouquet was a lot of fun to make - and this is the tame version!

It was made up of a collection of lingerie - bras, corsets and underwear - all made out of hearts! Bachelorette parties only happen because someone is in love... and other reasons of course! I love that they are all made with the same shape, because it makes the collection so cohesive, not to mention that it's convenient!

What woman doesn't like a pretty bra?

These corsets are some of my favourites! Wouldn't the designs be really cute in real life?

These bum cookies are a little bit different from ones made in the past - they were made using a whole heart, but they are still pretty cheeky!

Every collection or bouquet of cookies teaches a new lesson. This collection taught me a variety of things - including that aprons can make great backdrops - amongst others. There were a few "dirty" cookies that went along with this bouquet - but they were not heart shaped! No, I do not have a cookie cutter in that shape, they had to be cut out by hand - one of the most interesting challenges I've tackled! Those cookies are also available, but pictures aren't exactly appropriate for this blog. If you are seriously interested in an order containing "dirty" cookies requests for images can be sent to decorateddelectables@gmail.com

Tea Fit for a Queen, or Your Mother

This collection of teapots was made for a Mothers Day tea party, an idea that I wish I would have thought of myself.Teapots are one of my favourite shapes to decorate, although my list of favourites seems to grow with each new shape and design. I love different types of tea (I have at least 25 at home) so this shape was irresistible the first time I saw it.

Some of the designs, like the hand stitched teapot below, were imagined, new ideas that I wanted to try out, or teapots that I wish I owned.

Others were inspired by real teapots that I found in the china cabinet or online. The purple daisy teapot was inspired by the vintage teapot below which is available here:
Vintage Daisy Teapot

The Japanese cherry teapot below was inspired by one of my mother's teapots that I still am not allowed to touch because it is so old.

This bouquet was put together in an over sized mug to complete the theme. Perfect to fill with tea and dip the cookies in!

I hope that whether you are having a tea party or just a quiet day at home, everyone has a Happy Mothers Day!
