Summer Treats

What's better than delicious summer foods? Sugar cookies disguised as summer foods of course!

 Watermelon anyone?

OK, so these swirls aren't summer foods, but they sure are fun to eat!

New Kid on the Block Baby Girl Cookies

These cookies were made for the members of a tightly knit neighbourhood who wanted to congratulate another neighbour on their new bundle of joy.

The neighbours had a really cute ideas, and requested that the bouquet be centered around this cookie, and the new kid on the (baby) block theme.
This bouquet was a bit different from any other Decorated Delectables bouquet. It was a bouquet/platter combination that included some chocolate chip cookies on the bottom for the new mom. Similar customization requests can be sent to Nicole at decorateddelectables.@gmail.com

Accessory Party Cookies

These cookies were made for the hostess of an accessory party, and showcased everything girly and fun.

Someone needed to model the jewellery, and these icing motifs did a great job!

Interested in seeing your own profile made out of icing? I was. This icing motif was actually created using a picture of my own profile.

These looked great as a collection - everything stylish all rolled into one!

No girl can ever have enough shoes - the same applies to heels made of cookies.

Apparently diamonds are a girl's best friends! The diamonds on these rings were so sparkly and fun to make that they ended up being featured in a few other cookie designs as well.

A little bit of edible luster dust makes icing jewels pop!

Sometimes creative mistakes have great outcomes. The original plan for these daisy shaped cookies was to ice them to look like bead bracelets. When the first one didn't turn out quite as planned, I improvised a little and came up with this design. The necklaces on these cookies were inspired by some of the ones available at the accessory party.

Crown cookies are a recent addition to the Decorated Delectables line up and I had a great time coming up with new designs and creating the crown jewels! I can't wait to make these for a little princess!

Sometimes when making cookies you need to look outside the box, or in this case the cutter. Easter basket cookie cutters make great little purses! Chanel anyone?

For All the Tough Jobs

These tool cookies were actually made for a lucky dad on father's day, but they really work great for any occasion. My father seems to get suspicious whenever I make these cookies. I think he's slightly jealous and wants some for himself!

Thin shapes and stick are not a good combination, so these cookies can't be made into a bouquet very easily, but they sure do make a nice arrangement!

Canadiana Cookies

This is a collection of Canadian flags and Canada themed flowers that were made for a Canada day party coming up this weekend!

One of the main hazards when taking photos of cookies is forgetting to take photos before they are wrapped.

The above cookies were actually made for Victoria day in May. The motif is actually a replica of Queen Victoria's profile. These can be made of any one's profile. I actually made a cookie of my own face for another cookie collection.

Kitchener Rangers Cookies

Most of the people who know me know that I am a huge Kitchener Rangers fan. I've missed about 5 homes games over the past 8 seasons. Needless to say, I was delighted to make these Rangers cookies as a fathers day gift for a fellow fan.

It was a lot of fun making designs that I knew a true fan would understand.

For example, 1 is the only number a Kitchener player cannot take. Scott Dickie was the last Ranger to wear the number 1, since it was dedicated to the team's fans a few years back.

Now if only they could win another Memorial Cup...

Cookies of Catan

These cookies were made for my dad for his birthday. They were inspired by the game Settlers of Catan. You probably recognize them if you have ever played before. My family is obsessed with this game. We blame my brother in law.

There is actually over three dozen cookies put together to create one game board! Some of theme were designed after the actual game tiles, others were my own design. More pictures of these to come - as soon as I get my hands on them!
